In December our wine list expanded its selections. We are very proud to announce that Wine Spectator Magazine has chosen Kelly's for their Award of Excellence for 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Great job, Jean. November's issue of State College Magazine recognized Kelly's for the fifth straight year as the Best Steak Restaurant in the Centre Region. We were recognized for the fourth straight year as The Best Seafood Restaurant in the Centre Region. For the third time in four years we were voted the Best Hamburger in the area as well. A Celebration of Copper River Salmon!!
Hailed as the best salmon in the world and only available for a few short weeks of the year, these unique salmon must store up high levels of Omega-3 fatty acids(the good stuff) in preparation for their arduous spawning journey up the 300 mile Copper River in Alaska. The firm, bright red flesh is rich with a nutty flavor making these dishes truly amazing.
Cured overnight in a ginger-allspice brine, Applewood smoked, and served chilled with a Maui tartar sauce, tomato-cucumber relish, and pickled red onions.
Salad with Celery, Apples, and Smoked Salmon
Baby field greens tossed in a tangy mustard dressing with crisp celery, tart apples, fresh dill, smoked salmon, and topped with candied macadamia nuts.
A lightly seasoned, hand-formed 1/2 lb. burger is mixed with teriyaki sauce. Served on a sweet Hawaiian roll from Gemelli bakery, then topped with grilled pineapple, lettuce, and a teriyaki glaze. Served with your choice of French fries, slaw, or baked beans.
Simply Grilled Copper River Salmon
Grilled with extra virgin olive oil and our house-made Hawaiian sea salt blend. Simple and beautiful.
Asian Noodle Salad with Sesame-Crusted Salmon
Asian soba noodles tossed in a sesame-soy dressing with fresh vegetables and topped with oven roasted sesame-crusted salmon.
Riesling Poached Salmon
Subtly spiced with star anise and peppercorns, imparting a bit of exotic flavor. Served with roasted red potatoes, asparagus, and a lemon butter sauce.
Sweet Bourbon Glazed Salmon
Brushed with a honey-Bourbon glaze and slow roasted to medium rare. Served atop Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and topped with crispy leeks.
